What are your hours of operations?

We offer tutoring 7 days a week from 8am – 10pm.

How long are your tutoring sessions?

Our sessions typically are of 1 hour and 1 ½ hours.

How often do you recommend tutoring?

We recommend sessions 2 or 3 times a week, depending on the student’s needs. Students who are at grade level should consider twice a week to maintain their level of achievement. Student who are behind or struggling should consider 3 times a week.

How do I know if my child needs individual tutoring?

Virtually every student can benefit from the personal attention that our tutors can provide. Whether your child is currently struggling with a particular subject, frustrated with the amount of effort required to keep up with homework, or wants to get ahead and excel, we can work with you to achieve those goals.

What if I want more time than what has been scheduled?

Smart Club is happy to provide more tutoring time at the convenience of the student and the tutor’s availability.

Can I change my child's tutoring schedule?

Scheduling and committing to one day and time is a difficult task in this world of ever changing after-school activity schedules. It is in the best interest of the student to keep a consistent schedule for tutoring sessions, however we do understand that every once in awhile a day/time change may be inevitable.

Can I add subjects for my child to be tutored in?

Yes. This may require more than one tutor to work with your student to provide you with the greatest level of teaching expertise.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule the appointment.

What are your tutors' qualifications?

Our tutors are credentialed teachers, former teachers or degreed professionals. Smart Club checks all references, conducts background checks and personally interviews every tutor.Our tutors are selected not only for their experience and credentials but also for their dedication to helping children succeed.

How does SmartClub decide which tutor I get?

There are many factors that affect a matching decision. The main items considered are the student’s and tutor’s strengths/weaknesses, personality, availability, and schedule.

What if my child doesn't like the tutor?

In our initial consultation, we will try to learn about your child’s personality and learning style. We will use this info to select a tutor we believe will be a good match both in skills and personality. Our tutors make every effort to develop a positive, constructive relationship with the student.

Do your tutors work with learning disabled or special needs children?

Yes, many of our tutors are Special Needs certified and will be able to work with your child.

Are your tutors given full background check before being hired?

Yes. All of our tutors have passed extensive professional, personal, and criminal background checks.

Do you require long-term contracts?

We believe that once a student’s or family’s goals are accomplished our mission is complete. You won’t be bound by a long-term contract to continue with our tutoring service. We’ll be here if you need us again!

What happens during the free consultation?

An experienced Education Consultant meets with you and your child to discuss the current challenges facing the student and other factors that may affect the student’s potential achievement, as well as any questions or concerns you may have regarding the tutoring process.Based on the information shared in this consultation, the Educational Consultant assigns a tutor who has the best match of experience, skills, and personality to achieve success with the individual student.

How do I get started?

You can contact us at 310.782.5002 or email us at info@smartclubtutoring.com. Our Director will set up an In-home consultation. This is an informal meeting with you and your child. The student will be assessed and thereafter a tutoring curriculum will be discussed.

How soon can we begin consultation?

Immediately! Sessions are arranged at the earliest convenience of both student and tutor.

Do you accept major credit cards?

Yes. Credit cards are accepted and can be set up for automatic monthly payments. You always have the option to change your preferred method of payment.

Babysitting FAQ’s

Does SmartClub provide same day babysitting services?

Yes, we are proud to offer same day educational babysitting that can be arranged. We also offer assistance in birthday parties, special events, etc.

Do babysitters bring their own materials (ie. Arts and crafts)

Babysitters may bring some materials that may be needed for a project or activity if needed. We ask parents to provide the main materials and our babysitters will develop creative activities from what is available.

Up to how many children will you babysit at one time?

Our policy is up to 5 children per babysitter.

Have your educational babysitters been given a background check?

Each one of Smart Club’s educational babysitters have passed extensive professional, personal, and criminal background checks.

Are your babysitters CPR certified?

Yes. All of our babysitters have been certified. Verification can be shown if asked.

Do your babysitters provide driving assistance?

Yes. Our educational babysitters are available to drive your child/ren if needed.
